It’s not WHAT you want, it’s how BAD you want it!

Every decision is a balancing act:  Effort vs Reward.

Making the decision to change, to go down a difficult path, means your reasons to succeed have outweighed your excuses to fail.  I’m still struggling with this myself, but every step in the right direction makes my resolve stronger for the next time.

Decision Choose Change or Same Old Street

I’ve read several books and articles about highly successful people and there’s one overwhelmingly common element:  they WON’T give up, and they refuse to listen to even one million “No’s,” or one million voices saying “you’ll never succeed,” all they know is ‘try again’.

We can only be responsible for our own paths, our own results, our own successes or failures.  In the end, reaching your goal will be that much more meaningful because it wasn’t easy.  The day I literally made it to the top of this mountain, healthy enough to return to snow skiing at 53 years old, was the day I quit listening to my own voice that said “you’re too old and overweight to get back in shape.”  Now all I hear is “what’s next?!”

Quality vs Quantity– What Makes Life Worth Living?

Source: Life Inseparable

Living according to the status quo means we slow down with age.  Such expectations become self-fulfilling if we believe them.  Fortunately, there’s always those who defy “the usual,” the heroes I like putting on my own vision board of the future.

Living with purpose and joy matters, at least to some of us, instead of merely existing.  What’s your plan??

Have an extraordinary day!

Limited Liberty—The “Career Woman”

Why it’s unnecessary for women to argue ‘career’ vs ‘stay at home’ vs having children at all… these labels do not define us. We should never put each other down anyway– every choice is difficult and comes with a price and a prize.

Thanks to all my friends who keep me laughing 😅

All about able women

Kudos to this able-Spirit woman!

There is something special about being ignored. About being looked past, or over. A pang, that almost tastes like shame, for apologetically asking for a crumb. A seat at the table.

On March 8, there is an event on in Sydney. It’s being widely publicised on radio and tickets are nearly sold out. All About Women sells itself as a space to discuss a range of topics among some impressive women. Lots of people I know are going. I’m not.

In January, I asked the organisers about the accessibility of the venue and the event, if there were any panels discussing disability or if any of the presenters were women with a disability. In response, I was told that the curators would email me, and that they hadn’t asked any of the panellists to disclose whether they had a disability or not.

Hmm, I wonder what this means? Is it…
